As a student midwife, we are given the opportunity to spend a short placement abroad to experience our field of work in a new, different environment. So, myself and a classmate are heading to Kandy in Sri Lanka to practice our vocation in a setting totally opposite to what we've grown accustomed to. Any donation that is received is greatly appreciated and will be put towards vaccinations, flights, accommodation and not to mention, the all important visa. Becoming a midwife was one of the biggest career choices I ever made, and without a doubt, one of the best and so to explore it in different scenery, would be an unforgettable experience.
