My name is Serena and I am 14 years old. This August I am going to donate around half of my hair to the Little Princess Trust. They will use this hair to make a wig for boys and girls who don't have hair due to cancer and other conditions. My hair is currently around 29 inches/ 75 cm long. Apart from when I cut my hair myself when I was 4 years old, I have always had long hair so I am a bit nervous about having it shorter. The money I raise will be put towards the World Scout Jamboree, which I have been selected to go to as part of the Bedfordshire Unit.

The World Scout Jamboree is when 40,000 scouts from all around the world meet up for a 12 day camp. It happens every 4 years and in 2019 it will be organised by the scouts of America, Canada and Mexico and will take place in West Virginia, USA. Each scout from our unit has to raise £3,900 and some of the money I raise will help send scouts from developing countries to the Jamboree. I enjoy all the activities we do with scouts and I think other young people should have the same chances as me. I am looking forward to having new experiences and making friends from other countries.

I have been raising money by selling cakes, running activities at Christmas fairs, carrying Christmas trees, helping Father Christmas and teaching beavers and cubs to do campfire cooking.

I still have a long way to go to reach my total so I hope you will help me get to the Jamboree and help the Little Princess Trust at the same time.
