Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Shah Jalal Jami Masjid and Madrasah in Walsall was founded in 1985. The mosque is where the local community are free to pray and study with a vast array of Islamic books available. The mosque is also involved in educating the young people of the local community in Islam with over 150 students who attend every weekday.
During Ramadan food is provided in the mosque everyday at Iftar (breaking of the fast). This food is available for anyone and everyone, free of charge. This act of charity is funded by donations from members of the mosque.
When the mosque was bought initially it was a factory and it is still old and worn out. There are areas that lack structural integrity and there are leaks when it rains. The mosque facilities are very poor and it is not compliant with modern health and safety standards. The mosque is in dire need of modernisation.
Shah Jalal Jami Masjid has recently acquired planning permission to extend and refurbish the layout. This would improve the facilities making them safer to use and more modern. This would also allow more classrooms for students allowing more space and a quiet place to study.
The cost of the build has not been confirmed yet but as soon as an estimate is confirmed I will update you.
My personal target for fundraising is £5000 as I believe this target is achievable and realistic. Please donate as much as you can and if you can’t please share this cause with others.
