My best friends nan was recently a victim from a gang on con men! We are trying to raise the £500 back to finish the job these low lives didnt! Please see their story below. Unfortunately today my grandmother was a victim of a scam where some scumbag dirty men conned her of £500. They knocked on the door asking if she wanted her weeds pulled out knowing she was on her own and quoted her £500, instructed her to go to the bank and withdraw the cash from her savings and that they would be back to do it when she had returned with the cash. I'm no gardening expert but £500 to pull up some weeds and put down weedkiller seemed excessive so i went round while they were still there, had a conversation with them where i expressed i wasn't comfortable with the price they were charging her and left for about ten minutes to go get another male family member to come round and verify this with me (mainly to get rid of them for me) and by the time i had come back with him they had told her they were taking some stuff to the tip and would be back to finish but demanded she give them the cash first. I managed to get a picture of their number plate as shown in picture WV13 UW0. They had the words 'Timberland Tree Care' printed on their t-shirts but no facebook page, no google search entries and no logos anywhere to be seen. If anyone recognises this number plate or the name of the "company" can you please get in contact with me and let me know any details you can. Thank you in advance. Police have been informed. Also is attached a picture of the "finished job" that cost my beautiful grandmother £500. Safe to say i'm fuming.
