I have mental health and physical problems for 30 years and in the last 7 years I have discovered the power of Chihuahuas. I never thought that the breed was beautiful until one stole my heart, and became my shadow, my love and he changed me because I never feel alone.

Since I began my search I've found things that disturb me, and upset me, with this breed. I've met people where I live who have two or three and don't walk them! Why? That's not right ! Yes they are cuddly lap dogs but they still need to walk and play.

I have a conservatory which is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. If I could get that knocked down and convert it into a flat roof extension, with under floor heating, it would be a perfect place to bring in rescue Chihuahuas. I'd collect knitted jumpers because they do get very cold, its not because I want to play dress up.

I could maybe find rescue forms and start getting the little ones re-homed. They need people at home and due to my health I can be there and love them and feed them and prepare them for their forever homes.

So many people what teeny weeny little Chihuahuas, which a lot of people call "teacup". That isn't recognised & to try and breed from these tiny little mites, end up killing them & the puppies.
Chihuahuas are the most euthenazed dog in the USA. What's disturbing is that more and more are ending up on gumtree/dumped/and in rescue centres or fosterers.

I want to do some good for these little souls, but I need that conservatory changed into a warm permanent place for them. I have sofa's for them & a big garden. I can encourage people to come and help me. I'd like to continue to support them with donations of blankets and jumpers and toys. Maybe I can find a petstore to sponsor this. Yes its a big ask but I want people to stop buying an over bred breed & start looking after the ones in rescue centres.
