    Story

Welcome! Thanks for visiting Sheffield Foyer’s Just Giving Page and showing that you care about the future of young people in Sheffield!

Sheffield Foyer is Sheffield’s largest hostel for homeless people aged 16 – 25.
Funding for accommodation and support for 64 young people comes from Sheffield City Council and the Guinness Partnership. This provides a basic support package at times of need, for vulnerable young people who would otherwise be sleeping rough, ‘sofa-surfing’ or struggling to make their way. It can still be pretty hard.

Much-needed EXTRA support is funded through the Sheffield Foyer Residents’ Fund. This is where you can make a difference! Even the smallest donation can help a young person in need:
    • £1 buys an electric token to heat and light a self-contained bedsit within the hostel.
    • £2 buys washer and dryer tokens.
    • £4 buys a daily travel pass to help people get around, as they begin to find their feet.
    • £5 buys a Move-in Pack, containing essential items like toothpaste and shampoo, as well as something to make a hot drink, as a basic ‘welcome’.
    • £10 buys a full bedding set or an emergency food parcel.
    • £20 buys one week “in work” support package or a training starter pack.
    • £50 helps with getting much-needed ID documents to help set up a bank account.
    • £100 pays for a full “in work” support programme for 4 weeks, helping with interview and work clothing, travel and household expenses for 1 month until the first pay cheque arrives.
    • £200 pays for a place on a course or an ‘outward-bound’ confidence-building break or a basic move out pack to help set up home, for the first time away from the Foyer.

Every donation makes a difference and is used to help young people have a brighter future.
