    Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page for an Air Ambulance Service for Northern Ireland.

The reason why we’re raising funds for this service is that back in November, Sonja Klinger, a young German woman studying in Belfast had a very close call when she fell from the top of the Cavehill in Belfast. Luckily Davey McCrum and Richard Lamont found her belongings the following morning and investigated further before going back and eventually locating Sonja. Although badly injured, Sonja was miraculously still alive, she had battled bravely for 36 hours and never gave up hope. The alarm was raised and an Air Ambulance had to be despatched from Scotland to complete the rescue mission.
Thankfully Sonja is back home in Germany and progressing well on a long road to recovery – however, this story could have had a very different ending and while Government has released some funds to support a new Air Ambulance service, this is expected to be a 50/50 split between them and the charity, so it is really dependant on generous donations from the public to kick this service off and keep it going.

This experience has inspired us to try and raise some much needed funds by something challenging, worthwhile…. and a bit of craic too. So led by Davey, the “Wolfpack” (casual Bear Grylls wannabes) consisting of brothers Davey & Frankie McCrum, David Maxwell and Ian Wilson got together and decided our main challenge/fundraising idea would be to climb the 3 highest summits in each of the 4 provinces of Ireland in 2017.

We hope to raise £4,000 in total. So please dig deep and help get this vital service off the ground. We will post regular updates of our progress and of how Sonja is doing as well!

Leinster has been conquered after the weather was unbelievable bad at times and I'm super proud of the lads as they marched through it all without a complaint. Luckily the weather was nice to us at times to enjoy some breath taking views that only are beautiful island has to offer us. I never seen so may deer in one place when we where coming down from the summit and seen deer everywhere around us, there was to many to count. We even bumped into Joe and the gang from the living to learn community on face book in a town called round wood.
