    Story

On Sunday July 15th I will be running the British 10km event around central London to raise sponsorship funds for the Thomas Crosbie PACE Foundation. If you are able to, I would greatly appreciate your support.

In September 2016 I, and many others, lost a dear friend of ours – Thomas Crosbie, aka PACE - to suicide. While I am loathe to focus on this incident too much, it is an inescapable fact that the journey to this project started from a time of darkness and mourning. He was a wonderful person; creative and intelligent, caring, deep and sensitive but equally hilarious, welcoming and supportive. His passing was a loss not only to everyone who knew him, but also to anyone who may have met him in the future.

However, like many tragedies in life from behind the intense clouds of sorrow come rays of inspiration, beauty and hope. And so it was that a group of friends and family that knew Thomas best decided to start the Thomas Crosbie PACE Foundation to echo the values that he stood for and promoted. Their aim was to create a community and environment which could support and nurture the creativity, potential and well-being of a new generation of young people growing up in London.

The PACE pseudonym stood, and stands, for; Positive Artistic Creative Energy, and the forthcoming Coldfire Festival will encompass these values with an event based in east London. Featuring performance and workshops, the event will reflect and showcase the most wonderful of Thomas' beliefs. We will also be promoting the message with young people in school and youth groups via outreach involving sport, theatre, music, art and promoting safe environments for young people to talk.

I, and the Thomas Crosbie PACE Foundation, would massively appreciate any donations you could afford.

It's done!!! :D Finished in 57 mins, I wish it has been a little faster but it was a very hot day and my knee was playing up for a bit of it! I did beat Bert, Ernie and Elmo who I started next to though haha Overall I really enjoyed the whole experience, well, mostly anyway! Westminster bridge was hard in the blazing sun, and the section going over near Temple station was a challenge - but there are so many people they keep you going. Big shout out to Martha and Yahia for coming to see me and cheer too! x

Hit my target yesterday! Thanks so much to all you legends, and hoping there will still be more to add too, once I hit this record breaking time... I'm up and having a morning coffee. Feel slightly nervous, it's the first time I've done this but everyone who I've talked to says I'll love it and enjoy it. Trying not to put pressure on a time and instead just take pride in the reasons for doing it. It's only a 10k (famous last words...) but as I finish the last of my coffee and banana it feels like a long way! See y'all at the end :) x
