We are part of the National Citizen Service (NCS), part of the scheme is to do a community project and we have chosen to increase accessibility in public areas for those with hearing impairments. Our aim is to install a hearing loop in a community centre, where there is a lack of funding to do so themselves. The money we raise will be put towards paying for and installing the device, which increases the clarity of hearing for those with hearing aids. This isn't only going to help deaf people, it's going to help family and friends as it would make it more comfortable for them to be in public places with family members who may have hearing impairments.
