    Story

For over 8 centuries St Mary’s church has been standing in Bridport, a spiritual and architectural focus for the town. The building has changed over the centuries, with parts being added or removed as the church responded to the needs of the community around it.

The lead roof over the north aisle is now beyond repair and needs replacing. Water is getting in and causing damage. The repairs for this Grade 1 listed building are expensive, the current estimate is over £95,000 + VAT. To qualify for matched funding grants, we need to raise £45,000.

Our own fundraising programme continues, supported by church and town alike, but we need your help. Every amount, large or small, takes us a step or two closer to our target.

We want this building to be here for future generations.

    Please donate now.
