Story
Would never normally go down this route for help but on word of mouth people have told me to try this.
We are asking for help with cost of two operations on a previous stray cat that now has squamous cell carcinoma (skin cancer) & a suspicious lump located on her chest near her breast. We did the responsible thing and got smudge insured, but the pet Insurance aren't covering this as it was already pre-existing before be insured her. We are asking for any help however little to get this girl the operations she needs. Smudge was "dumped" near our house in 2012 along with some other cats (we have rescued three cats). Smudge is approx. 8 years old. As soon as we got her confidence we took her to the vets to firstly see if she had been neutered and to have a complete health check. The Vet did say that because she is a white cat it would be a possibility that she could get cancer later on down the line. Smudge is prone to ear infections which need treatment but over the last few weeks it has come to the decision with recommendation from the Vet of having to have both ears amputated and then biopsied to investigate the prognosis. Smudge went for a check just a few days ago and the amputation of her ears is still pending and the Vet has now found a lump which will need to be removed and tests carried out to investigate that prognosis as well. Smudge does need these operations as soon as possible.
I know for sure that a lot of people would have given up on this gorgeous little girl. Apart from her ears and her lump she is a healthy and loving cat. She is a changed cat, she doesn't like going outside much so she is really a real house cat. (The other cat we rescued was also very poorly and the Vet informed us that if we hadn't taken him in he would have died within a week, the other cat we rescued was dumped and she was a kitten herself). We have given three rescued cats the loving home they deserve.
We and Smudge would be so grateful for your help. Thank you so so much.
