Firstly I just want to be clear and state that the purpose of this page is purely in response to people who have asked to help in some way, please don't treat this as a plea for help or feel pressured to give anything, its merely for those who wish to show support of their own accord and anything received will be greatly appreciated by all of us.

Sofia has now had her surgery to remove the cancerous bone in her arm and shoulder which has been replaced with a metal prosthesis. As part of this procedure a large amount of muscle has been removed and she will require significant physio support for several months to attempt to return as much hand and arm function as possible while her Chemotherapy is ongoing.

While sitting watching the physio's working with her yesterday they used building small Lego sets as a process to encourage her to begin to use her hand and wrist again. Sofia loves Lego, as does her big sister Helena so having seen this used as a rehabilitation tool and knowing its going to be a very lengthy process we intend to buy her a couple of very large Lego sets to slowly work away at when she gets time at home between treatments.

A couple of these larger sets at around £100 each would equate to around 3000 pieces and should take her several weeks to construct taking it slowly during her breaks from treatment at home.

So again to be clear, please don't treat this as a plea for help, we will buy her these regardless however it dawned on me yesterday that this might be a nice way for those that have requested to help to be able to support her rehabilitation process in a small way.

Should any funds be received beyond what is required to cover this cost we can either put it to something else to help her progress (seems like something new crops up every day now!) or we can donate the funds to one of the local charities who have supported us greatly over the last few months.
