On the 6th of December I will be sleeping rough all night. I am doing this to support the CATHEDEREAL ARCHER PROJECT and to raise awareness of the significant number of homeless people in England. Making the experience more difficult will the freezing sub-zero temperatures in December.

I am looking to raise money to put on an event to support the CATHEDRAL ARCHER PROJECT by experiencing what homeless people have to go through on a daily basis.

The CATHEDRAL ARCHER PROJECT is a charity based in Sheffield that helps homeless people every single day. Its primary aim is to help homeless people change their lives for the better. Life should be rewarding and enjoyable. Homelessness is neither.

The charity helps homeless people by:

- Developing independence
- Improving their ability to tackle setbacks
- Improve their ability to identify and change negative behaviour
- Improve wellbeing

The charity acknowledges that everyone’s needs are different, it combats complex problems day to day by offering: 1-1 support, an in-house nurse and dental practice, the ability to learn new skills and gain accredited awards. As you can imagine all of this needs significant funding.

Like many of you reading this I have been fortunate enough to have a supportive and loving family and always had a roof over my head. However there are a significant number of people who aren’t as fortunate as us.

Whilst we are all now starting to think about the festive period and being with our families, it is the HARDEST month for homeless and vulnerable people not just because of the cold.
