24th World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia

My name is Sophie, I am going to be representing my scout group at the World Scout Jamboree in 2019

To attend this I need to raise £3800 personally and also am looking to help support others in her group. This is an amazing opportunity for any scout and I was selected out of a group of 130 for one of 36 places across the South East.

The experience sees me spending two weeks at Camp Betchenel in West Virginia and then a further week residentially with a scouting family in America or Canada.

Last Christmas I was bag packing which helped me raise £188. I have raised a further £100 on ebay which is addition to funds fonated through this site.

I have set uo a sweet stall at scouts and will be running Easter and Summer raffles and also running a community stall in June

This is a keen time for me as I will be facing into my GCSE's at this time so I am splitting my time between revision and fund raising aswell as in my case supporting the younger scout sections each week (Beavers and Cubs) as part of my volunteering activity.

I have also completed my Duke of Edinburgh and really enjoy the opportunities that scouting gives me through camping and meeting others. At this years Kent International Jamboree I met a large number of people from across Europe and made lots of friends.

The trip to America is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I am really excited to have been chosen through the selection process (including camping in December this year).
