    Story

Special Virtuosi CIC (SV) is a music organisation comprising of children and adults with SEND (Down's syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, etc). Founded in 2006 the group meets weekly at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
The team of staff at SV are made up of professional musicians and teachers who come on a voluntary basis and support the students one-to-one where possible.
Our 'SV Orchestra' is an inclusive group, allowing those who have no prior experience in music to benefit from playing in an ensemble and for those who are more advanced to build on the skills they are already developing. Making music at SV is a fun experience and alongside this we incorporate creative musicianship through a variety of games, composition activities and singing. We believe it is vital that people of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to engage with music

    Please see our website: http://www.specialvirtuosi.co.uk/

We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2017 with two big events!

We have recently been nominated for the Music Teacher Awards for Excellence - Best SEND Resource Award and have been shortlisted as a finalist: http://www.musicanddramaeducationexpo.co.uk/london/awards/2017-finalists
We have been invited to perform at the Education Expo on Thursday 9th February at London Olympia. We are seeking financial assistance towards our students' (plus one parent/carer per student) travel/accommodation costs for this unique event.

We are also raising funds for our 10th anniversary concert at the Royal Northern College of Music in April. This promises to be a memorable event for all.

We are very grateful for any funds as the organisation is run entirely by dedicated volunteers and any money kindly donated to us will be used to benefit our students directly.

Your kind donations for our '10th Anniversary Grade one-a-thon' can also be sent here too. Thanks to all taking part in this fundraising event.

    Many thanks for your support.
