Hello, I have a friend who is poorly at the minute, she is 33 and a single mum of 2 boys (13 & 9 years old) she has not been well for the best part of this year. She has pains in her abdomen caused by a prolapse that was diagnosed about 2 months ago and was waiting for a date with the hospital for a consultation and assessment on the situation and what treatment would follow. However at the appointment which was Monday 7th August, several doctors and stated that there could be more of an issues than previously detected. They believe that she may have early stages of cancer of the womb, but the doctors seem to be providing very vague and even cagey answers, stating "we are not too sure what is happening here, the prolapse is in more of an advanced state than previous thought, but we believe there could be something more sinister at work here, we don't want to make assumptions but there could be a possibility of cancer of the womb"
The doctors have said that they'll send a letter you her and her GP for another consultation in 3 months time! My friend has stated that she has had her children and wants to be there for them and would rather remove her womb but the doctors are very reluctant to put forward this request. Instead she now has to wait for more paperwork to arrive and more consultations and tests including, swab, smear test, internal examination and scans. My friend is highly concerned and even scared, understandably so, she is thinking of going privately for treatment to be seen faster as she has not been given a date yet for the next consultation. She still continues to go to work but is afraid that she may need time off after treatment and being on minimum wage is worried about missing bill payments and looking after her 2 boys. As a friend I am supporting her the best I can and would like to take some of the stress away by raising some money for her treatment and recovery. Please kindly help her to get better, I know its a lot to ask but she is a good person, a great friend and an amazing mother! Thank you :)
