In the year since we launched, thanks to your generosity, we raised £8,328 via JustGiving and were able to distribute 82 microgrants to classicists in the UK and Europe. A quick update for everyone who has donated to us here on JustGiving, for which we are very very grateful! In approximately three weeks' time, we mark six months since our launch, and we'd love to reach our target of £5000 by that point, so please spread the word! On Twitter, we have been curating a list of short biographies for Black scholars in honour of Black History Month in the UK (see our pinned tweet, @SportulaEurope); we have also launched a Q&A initiative under the hashtag #NewInAntiquity. It's been just over three weeks since we launched, and we've already reached our initial target of £1000. Thank you for giving generously to help us reach this goal! We've already started giving out our first microgrants, and will be distributing more next week as funds are processed and enter our account. Today, we have also launched our website - sportulaeurope.wordpress.com - with information on how to donate, request microgrants and get in touch. Over the coming weeks, we hope to update with blog posts, recommended reading and much more!
