Largely unnoticed by the public last month there were severe floodings and mudslides in Sri Lanka which displaced 600,000 people and killed more than 200. With widespread poverty and future incomes swept away it will take a long time for those families affected to recover from this disastrous event.

From my visits to Sri Lanka I have known the Buddika family (photo depicts parents and one of their children) who have turned to me desperate for help. Due to the floods their house (one kitchen and one bedroom) has been swept away and I would like to help them rebuild it. They are currently staying with wider family and don't have the means to rebuild their house. Our target amount would facilitate the entire rebuild, but even less would make a big difference to them.

That's why I would like to ask you for your kind help and contributions - every penny counts that will help that family get their life back. They told me that they are incredibly grateful for any help.
