This July I will be joining a small group of Harrow School boys, who have created a partnership with the Foundation of Goodness, which is a Sri Lankan charity based in Seenigama. This is an organisation set up by Kushil Gunasekera, alongside former Sri Lankan Test cricketers Muttiah Muralitharan, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena.

The Foundation’s aim is to solve the issue of wealth and infrastructure inequality between the urban and the rural regions of Sri Lanka. They focus on providing educational facilities for the people of the local villages, and so far have helped 35,000 people from over 200 villages. Their work has become particularly important following the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004, which had a devastating impact on the local area.

With the your help and generosity I will be able to strongly contribute to the buying of local resources which we will use to build a library. Then I will be teaching English, ICT and business to the teenagers of the local villages as well as coaching sports at the Foundation's Sports Academy.
