Story
Our names are Harriett Kilborn and Hannah Sutton and we currently attend sixth form at Bishop Stopford School in Kettering.
In the summer of 2019, we are planning on going to Sri Lanka for part of our Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award through the organisation Plan My Gap Year, for one month to work with wildlife and communities in local schools and renovating community buildings.
More specifically, our work will include helping in a turtle conservation and an elephant shelter, teaching English in schools and orphanages, and repairing and reconstructing buildings such as hospitals and temples.
In order to participate in this project we need to raise a total sum of £2,00 each to cover the fights, placement fee, vaccinations and kit costs, which we are hoping to raise through sponsorship and fundraising events.
