Lexi who is five years old was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on the 13th November 2017 and although lexi has down syndrome she is normally otherwise healthy this came as a total shock to the family, as this didnt even cross our mind when she was brought in to A&E with a sore knee and unable to put any pressure on it, getting the diagnoses was so hard but the staff on ward 4 have been absolutely amazing and reacted very quickly in starting treatment with lexi, lexi has been in hospital for over four weeks and still remains in hospital, we are wanting to raise money for ward 4/14 (ward 14 is the day unit where lexi will recieve some of her treatment outside hospital stays) as this is an amazing ward and helps many babies, children and teenagers who are also going through cancer, lexi has started to loose her hair because of her treatment (chemotherapy) and i have said that if we can raise £3000 (which lexi decided) then i will let lexi shave my hair off.
