What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

With so few free entry community events of this size available for families, it’s come as a BIG shock to hear that this much loved Spring Festival may be in it’s last year due to lack of funding.

The Friends of St Ann’s Well Gardens is a registered charity, set up to raise money to pay for park improvement projects for the community and to put on free, affordable community events in the beautiful historic park. With government parks funding having been enormously cut last year, fundraising charities like the Friends are even more important for the local community, but with a rocky economic climate it’s becoming more and more difficult to secure sponsorship from local businesses.

Last October ‘The Friends’ had to cancel their hugely popular Welloween, the local children’s fancy dress Halloween party, due to lack of funding. We are seriously hoping this doesn’t happen to the Spring Festival for 2019 too.

Why is it important we SAVE St Ann’s Well Gardens Spring Festival?

The local Brighton & Hove community and families absolutely LOVE this free day out in their public park! Over 10,000 people pass through the event on the day, enjoying dozens of children’s activities, market stalls, wellbeing retreat area, an incredible varied food offering and an absolutely fantastic main stage line up of music and live bands! Oh and ENTRY IS FREE. A key factor for local families these days.

You only need to witness the sheer joy on the children’s faces throughout the day and see the crowds watching the main stage in pleasure – and usually some May sunshine, to realise this is one of the city’s best loved community events still going today in Brighton & Hove.

If you would like to see this great event continue please help us to raise enough awareness and funding.
