Weʼre raising £1,800 to To replace the vandalised caravan belonging to Stan Acaster, the driving force behind the Upton Ukulele Festival.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Stan Acaster did a mountain of work to get the Upton Ukulele Festival started and bore the financial loss himself. His caravan served as the festival office. Just before the festival itself Stan's father died and at the end of June he travelled north for the funeral, leaving the caravan at its festival location. Upon his return he found that the caravan had been vandalised in his absence. It had cost him £1800 and on top of the cost of the festival he simply can't afford to replace it.
We're sure that everyone who took part in the festival will want to contribute to replacing this for Stan. Any surplus generated will be put towards the cost of the 2019 festival which we do all want to see don't we!
