Story
In 2015 I started a business. It was hard, in fact almost impossible to get help locally from anyone that understood that wanting to follow your dream was basically really hard work.
At this time, I heard a lot of stories locally of new business owners being 'ripped off' by unscrupulous local suppliers that were taking advantage of the naivety of new people in the market. This made me very angry.
I then met a fellow start-up business owner called Laura Kenward, who had encountered the same. We decided to do something about it.
Our first meeting was attended by 7 like-minded people in a pub (let's face it, that's where all the best ideas and things start). Just one year later, we have a business support and networking group with over 430 online members and a monthly face to face networking event that is attended by 30-50 people.
We all have the same drive to help early stage start-up companies flourish and grow. StartUp Disruptors provides help, support, advice and signposting to early stage business owners. But we now need help to cover costs and grow the group even bigger. We are creating the businesses of tomorrow that will help employ our kids, impact positively on the local economy and change the world!
