My name is Stefan and I'm currently a sixth form student at St Ignatius College in Enfield. This July, I will be one of the 16 students fortunate enough to be representing the College in a visit to our sister school, St Ignatius Prep & Primary in Dodoma, Tanzania.

The whole aim of this visit is to see first hand how St Ignatius in Dodoma has benefited from our continued support for many years through numerous fundraising activities.

The work we do to raise money has a significant impact. It not only enables for the facilities of St. Ignatius Prep and Primary to be improved, but also allows us to sponsor children from less privileged backgrounds in Tanzania so that they themselves can receive a good education. One of which many couldn't afford.

Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world and the people there don't have nearly as much as we do. We as a community don't realise how fortunate we are and so it will be a very emotional experience to witness what they go through in their day to day lives.

I along with 15 other students will be visiting Tanzania for a total of 3 weeks. During this time we will be staying with a host family who have a child that we sponsor for. For us as students, we will be contributing our part by lesson planning and teaching in the primary school for two weeks as well as organising a sports day with all the pupils.

The total amount we raise will contribute to both flights and essential resources while over there (such as Malaria Nets and Medication). The rest will provide for books, pens, pencils and other school resources.
