Story
It’s now a year; this month since Paul’s accident where he sustained life changing injuries. In the months since, I have tried to raise £12,000 for a specialised ‘CarbonBlac’ wheelchair for Paul, with the kind help of family and friends. From the 16th April 2016, to date, we have raised nearly £9,200 through donations, a ‘Welcome Home’ party, Prosecco Bingo night, a Race night and Paul’s cousin; Tony Patterson running his first ever London Marathon. I have been so overwhelmed by the support, efforts and generosity of family and friends both of Paul and myself. Paul has now moved into his new home and started the next chapter in his life. I had hoped to make a difference to Paul’s life and put a smile back on his face, to give him something to look forward to after our first experiences with the standard hospital wheelchair. Everyone has made a fantastic effort to support everything we have done so far, to achieve my goal of raising enough money to buy Paul this wheelchair. I am so close to the full amount but I can’t do this without your help. I am hoping this is my last leg, and will be able to soon buy the ‘CarbonBlac’ wheelchair.
Paul and I met with the company on the 17th January that manufacture the ‘CarbonBlac’, and if you go to Paul’s or my Facebook pages there are pictures of this visit. The chair is super lightweight (carbon fibre!), much better handling, super speedy and most importantly, doesn’t tip over. I am asking you all one more time: Donate as little or as much you can, every little helps!
