Medical voluntary work in Africa has been on my bucket list for many years now. As a doctor being able to give back to those in need is a great privilege we forget about too often. Getting caught up in every day routines and overrunning clinics stands in harsh contrast to the situation in rural Africa where medical services are sparse and often not accessible to patients. Many urban clinics in Kenya are privately run meaning patients are required to pay. But those who cannot afford to need our help. I will be working alongside local doctors in Kenya for 2weeks in october in public clinics where supplies are sparse and the demand is high. Agape as an NGO also organises medical outreach programs and these depend on funds from participants and donations. I would like to use this opportunity to help raise money to assure this work can continue and medical supplies can be purchased for medical outreach and rural clinics in Kenya. In an ideal world I would like to raise 100£ per day of my stay, a total of £1500. While this may seem a lot to some, it really is just a small amount of what's required to keep this project alive. Please support me by giving however much you can afford. Every little counts and will make a difference in the lives of those depending on our help.
