Ladies and Gentlemen.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will be taking part in the Prudential RideLondon event in July 2018 in the attempt to raise money for a charity called Sight for Surrey. I am cycling this 100 mile event for an organisation which did so much for my niece, Alex Perryer, before she died from a brain tumour, three years ago. In the last three years of her young life, Alex unfortunately became partially sighted and then completely blind.

Sight for Surrey is a charity which offers a lifetime of support for people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf blind or hard of hearing. As Alex's eye sight gradually deteriorated, this wonderful charity enabled her to continue her love for all things arts and crafts by running specially adapted childrens recreational events. Alex was able to meet children who were also visually impaired and her mum was able to meet other families going through similar experiences and gain valuable information and support.

Carol, Alex's mum, now works for Sight for Surrey as a youth worker . Organising events for teenagers with visual impairments such as water skiing, rock climbing cooking session and horse riding, all these activities are freely accessible to a typical teenager. These activities allow for our young people to gain a greater understanding of the sighted world in which we live, giving them opportunities to understand different concepts something that children who have a significant vision impairment struggle with.
