St. Margaret's Church at Bucknall dates, in part to the Norman period. Our little church is full of character and has been a part of the local community for hundreds of years.
Our church is in need of a lot of work over the next few years - including a new roof - to make it last a few more hundred years.

We have started the long process of having an eco-toilet installed in our grounds as we have no toilet facility. This discourages a lot of people from coming to services and events.

The 9th and 10th September will be a busy weekend at our church as it is the Horncastle and villages Churches Festival, the Ride and Stride fundraising bike ride (and walks), raising funds for the Lincolnshire Churches' Trust - of which Bucknall will be a stop-off point for cyclists - and it's our Open Day and Craft Fayre. A portaloo is expensive but essential to attract visitors as our nearest public toilets are at Woodhall Spa or Horncastle, some miles away.

With the ongoing cost of insurance, heating/lighting and the Parish Share to the Diocese, we have limited funds to pay for our projects and are having to save as much as possible for architects fees etc. for our roof and eco-toilet projects.

Our church welcomes all - people of faith and people with no faith. It is a great asset to our community and a piece of British history.
