Story
For over a year Save the River Usk has been working with University of South Wales testing for the bacterium E. coli along the river.
Our results show hotspots where levels of E.coli can be hundreds of times above safe bathing limits. And yet, even the places where treated sewage is released back into the river are unmarked.
Dr Cerith Jones has been a pioneer in this process. He shares our vision at Save The River Usk, using high quality, credible data to reveal the full extent of our pollution problem - data which enable us to challenge the authorities on their poor record in protecting our wonderful river.
We now want to take our testing to the next level, and conduct an E. coli testing "blitz" across the whole catchment. The testing to be done using stringent laboratory procedures and of course, this doesn't come for free.
So we need to raise £2,000 before we can start our collaboration going onto the next cruciual level .

Thank you save the River Usk
Together we will restore our river
