I'm currently working on a project, which Im hoping will appear on the cancer research website and hopefully other publications. I finished my radiotherapy back in December and decided that the task that you have to wear in treatment was going to come home with me. These are moulded to shape of you and hold you in position so that you can't move. These things are necessary, but truly horrible. After contacting many companies including local universities which either said they wouldnt help or simply didnt answer back I have found an artist that is willing to change the visual of it into something better. I want to mask to express a part of me. My plan/dream is to one day have other people's mask and hopefully have a art exhibition of them all (We can all dream big).

The problem is that like most things, nothing comes for free. The artist is looking for £500 for materials, clay, paints, time and labour. I'm really hoping that people will help me to raise this money. If each of my Facebook friend gave £5 each then I will smash this figure. Of course if people are willing to give more than that's fantastic. Although I have been give the all clear, many parts of this horrible disease still live on in my everyday life, but If I can achieve this and see it will help to give me strength.

I will be putting the story forward to CRUK, who i hope are going to do something with it and will help people who are going through their treatment and instead of seeing these masks as a thing of horror. But into a symbol of strength.
