Dear Friends,  

I have lived and worked at Taraloka now for ten years. The Trustees have recently introduced the possibility for Order Members here to take a sabbatical leave as part of our support package. I have put forward a proposal for myself to take 6 months (April to September) in 2019, to which they have agreed, and will give £1,000 towards, plus our ongoing monthly support.

I want to undertake a Mythic Journey. It pulls together some of the different strands of my life, my past, and who I am. The plan contains a number of different elements: a visit to Vancouver and a months solitary retreat; attending the chamber music festival in Banff - a long held dream for my musical self!; travelling down the west coast of America by train to San Francisco, including time with the giant redwood trees in the North; and a visit to New York City.

Back in the U.K., I plan to travel to see long standing friends whom I don’t see nearly often enough and those to whom I am Preceptor and Kalyana Mitra, in a much more relaxed and spacious way than life at Taraloka allows; and visit some Cathedrals not yet seen.

So it’s a journey of the inner life, cultural life, and connection. I have lived and worked for the Movement since 1976, and have few personal financial resources of my own. To make this happen I am looking to raise a further £2,000 by this October.
