Story
On Tuesday 21st November 2017 every parents worst nightmare became a reality for a friend of mine Paul Vincent, who was told his ‘only’ son James (24) had died.
Working in Dubai meant James was alone with no family around him and this news came as a massive shock, Paul and James's mum and their partners dropped everything and have flown straight to Dubai to bring their son home. The company that James worked for have generously taken care of their accommodation for the 1st 8 days, hoping it would be sorted within that time scale. It’s not looking likely, due to ongoing police investigations etc. The British embassy is being a great support to them, but costs are rising each and every day and the Embassy do not assist with these mounting costs. Before James can b released, the official paperwork, medical involvement and all costs associated with this have to be paid, amounting to thousands!! And that’s before repatriation can begin. As you can imagine with flights, commuting, meals, bringing James and his belongings home is a time consuming lengthy process. There are so many restrictions and red tape to contend with and its not staightforward. When they eventually get through all the dubai red tape in order just to get James home, there will also be a funeral at home to organise.
Although James did have insurance, they won't pay out because unfortunately James lost his battle with mental health and committed suicide.
We are trying to raise £7000 to help towards their costs and assist in getting James home to b properly laid to rest and to let them know that we are all here and care.
Any remaining funds will b donated to a mental health charity in the UK.
Please spare what you can, all donations of any amount are so greatly appreciated many thanks
Xx
