Story
My late brother Martin was born with a condition known as congenital diaphraphic hernia and was actually given his last rites at birth. However he lived to almost 37 years, sadly on the 29th of September 2016, due to sepsis caused by the congenital diaphraphic hernia and his bowel also multiple organ failure. When Martin was born the charity CDH (congenital diaphraphic hernia uk) didn't exist, this charity helps and supports babies and children born with this condition as well as their families. Any money raised also goes into research and educating people, even the medical profession.
From the 17th of September 2017 I will be beginning my journey via train and coach to Glasgow where my travelling companion and I will then travel to Milngavie where we shall begin our 95 mile walk of the West Highland way to Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the UK which we aim to climb on the 29th of September which will be exactly one year since my brother passed.Once I reach the top of Ben Nevis, I intend to put a few of my late brother's ashes into a snow ball and throw off the mountain which I know he would of appreciated.
I am passionate about raising money for CDH UK, because no baby deserves to be born with such a horrible rare condition as this.
So please dig deep and dig hard into your pockets to donate to such a fantastic charity and know how happy my brother would of been to know of such generosity helping babies and children born with what he was born with.
A big thank you from myself and Martin and my dad the awesome Bill Pither.
Big love xxx

7 years agoI'm struggling. The first 27 miles over rough terrain, small hills and a larger Connic Hill and I got poorly. Times not on my side either so have had to use public transport for the next 23 miles. I'm doing my best people I really am, oh and the weather is terrible so am struggling with that too.
