Weʼve raised £1,410 to Help Summer Get Moving

Funded on Monday, 30th September 2019

    Story

    Summer needs your help.

Movement is something we all take for granted. Activities as simple as walking to the shops or eating a meal are something you do every day. For Summer who is now 2 and a half years old, every day is a struggle. She was born with an unknown condition which inhibits her movement, leaving her unable to do anything for herself. This means that she doesn't have the ability to walk or even support herself without aid to do the every day things that we all do without second thought.

Summer's best chance of ever being able to achieve independent movement and learn to walk is in an intensive course of physical therapy at The Movement Centre in Oswestry's specialist hospital. Here they help children with movement disabilities to reach their full potential. However, each of these 9-12 month courses is not funded by the NHS and costs almost £7,000. We could not afford this alone, but we have to try and help Summer to have the best opportunity of independence, and you can't really put a price on that.

You can read more on The Movement Centre and what they do here:- https://www.the-movement-centre.co.uk/

    That's where you come in.

We ask for your support in helping Summer reach her full potential. Despite her struggles, Summer remains to be such a happy and chatty girl, with the most beautiful smile who makes friends with everyone she meets. We urge you to donate anything you can afford to help our little girl get the professional support she deserves. Any small amount you can donate can make a huge difference to Summer's life and future. Hopefully, together, we can show that anything is possible with compassion and charity.

So what are we going to do?

You can keep up to date with fundraising activities on our Facebook page: fb.com/getsummermoving

We have already completed a poster sale and raffle as well as a climb to Everest Base Camp in November 2018.

    - PLEASE NOTE - All donations will go directly to Summers Fund. All fundraising activities will be funded by ourselves and friends including marketing materials, advertising, travel expenses and any other equipment. If we were so fortunate that we managed to raise over the target amount, this money would be put into other equipment needed by Summer - and also for the future.
