    Story

Under the banner of the Order of St George myself, Mel Watts, and a close friend, Al Lewis, will do a fundraising run for the Order. We will be running up Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in south Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park. But to make things even more interesting – blindfolded!

We both have close ties with the military and this is an opportunity to support our colleagues that have and indeed continue to serve. We therefore we aim to make our way over the mountain with Mel being partially sighted by blindfold, and Al guiding Mel to the top and down other side. The blindfold will represent the hardship and burden of soldiers injured in conflict, whilst the help and guidance of Al will represent the support that is needed by those injured to continue to their own personal battle and journey when dealing with the road to recovery.”

The run will take place in March 2017 and the money raised will be divided between three of the services charities the Order supports – ABF – the Soldier’s Charity, The 3rd Bn Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment and the Green Berets.

Please support us in this endeavour by making a contribution.
