On Monday 3rd October 2016 Kerry and Jon received the devastating news that no parent should ever have to hear. Their gorgeous, sweet and innocent, three year old Logan had a cancerous tumor on his kidney. Their world immediately shattered around them. Following further tests and scans during the week the family had it broken to them that the cancer has also spread to Logan's lungs.
Logan has had his first 6 weeks of intensive chemotherapy at Newcastle RVI, which is where he has been back and forth with family as they closely monitor him. Logan is due scan results back soon to check how his body has reacted to the chemo. Logan will undergo the operation to remove his kidney this week. With the help of their immediate family, Kerry and Jon are also taking care of their other 2 beautiful children Harley and Lacie. Jon has been brave enough to return to work in amongst all the visits to Newcastle, but Kerry has been unable to work as she cares for Logan 24/7 along with numerous trips to hospital every week.
This page was set up to raise £1000 for the children's cancer ward taking care of Logan and his family at this difficult time. Kerry and Jon wish to donate £1000 raised in Logan's name.
The initial £1000 target was smashed in no time, and the family have been truly overwhelmed by the support from friends, work colleagues, and local businesses. Any additional funds will go to the Waite family for financial support during this dreadful nightmare they can't escape from.
