During May Bank Holiday Weekend this year I will be attempting to cycle the 170 miles from Chester to Cardiff along with 40 other friends and family members in memory of my brother Tom.

I found this part really difficult to write so I will keep it brief. My older brother Tom was tragically taken away from us in May 2017. Words cannot describe how heartbroken we all are. Tom was such an amazing person. We had such a close bond and I truly idolised him. I still cannot process what has happened and I miss him so much. We are hurting so much as a family and big circle of friends but want to get REST set up to help others. This will all be in Tom’s name, it will be his legacy.

We are currently applying to register REST as a charity. Having realised first hand how expensive and difficult repatriation can be for families who sadly find themselves in this awful situation (even when you have travel insurance) we are planning to launch REST. This will be a charity that will support and fund those who suddenly lose a loved one abroad.

We are taking part in the cycle challenge to raise money for REST. We will all be cycling the 170 miles from Chester in Cardiff over 3 days. I am not a very strong cyclist so this will be a CHALLENGE for me. But I want to do this to support REST. I will be thinking of Tom all the way.
