Story
In 2012 Sophie found the strength to leave a harmful relationship of 11 years with her children's father. In 2013, what ended up being 4 years of court procedings began. At this time she was surfacing from years of social isolation and, due to legal aid cuts, was forced to represent herself in court against a barrister. It was a very daunting experience in which she felt totally defenceless, and this was a factor in losing residence of her children. Although she has a right to see them, and is very concerned about their wellbeing without their mum in their lives, she has had to fight for contact at a crippling financial cost way beyond her means. The final court hearing takes place in March 2018 and this will be her last chance to make sure her children get to keep their family.
Sophie is a wonderful, kind person, a friend, and a good mother. She has suffered unimaginably as a result of being separated from her children and unfairly penalised through multiple system failures, but she has never given up.
Please help Sophie to keep fighting for her children's future happiness.

Cuts to legal aid are affecting women fleeing from abusive relationships. I don’t know you, but I hope this helps and that you know people care.
