HAPPY LECTURERS = HAPPY STUDENTS

Students know that staff working conditions are their learning conditions: happy staff = happy students.

The national University and College Union (UCU) represents academic staff at Northumbria University. UCU members at Northumbria are taking part in a legal, national marking and assessment boycott as a last resort to improve working and learning conditions for everyone, staff and students (https://www.ucu.org.uk/MAboycottFAQs).

Their employer will be deducting 50% of their pay for doing so. This is arbitrary, punitive, disproportionate, and immoral. No staff spend 50% of their time marking, and in a cost of living crisis, this is shameful.

Any money you can spare will be used to help support people taking action who are in the greatest need.
