Story
My beautiful granddaughter was born at 24 weeks and she was determined to live. She overcame many problems, some life threatning and she was in hospital for 8months. She has severe cerebral palsy so she cannot sit, walk or talk. She communicates with her face and if you met her you would fall for her straight away. She desperately needs a chair to sit in. The authorities will only give her a wheelchair and they expect her to sit in that when at home. Very uncomfortable at the best of times. My daughter also has another disabled child who was born at 23 weeks. He has problems, he is fed through his stomach and he doesn't talk. He can walk and he is very bright. He is nearly 13. She is now a single parent so funds will not stretch to buy Alex a chair. I have never done any thing like this before but I feel dreadful that we are not able to do this for her. She is nearly 16 now and she has to lie on the setee or the floor, neither very comfortable for her. These chairs are specially designed for her and will cover all of her limbs which go into spasms frequently and this hurts. The chair will help to control this. The chair will also help her spine remain straight. When she lies elsewhere this could curve her spine causing more problems for her.
