The first of our resettled refugee families have now been in the UK for 1 year and are settling well thanks in part to the huge community welcome and support they've had. Coincidentally, the initial crowdfunded pot has also just hit 'empty'. The families' disposable incomes are tiny and most have been hit by the benefits cap, which means they lost a very sustantial amount each month. They no longer have substantial needs but it's hard for them to pay for items such as garden gates for their chidlren's safety, replacements for broken goods, etc. This crowdfund is to help them with incidentals they wouldn't otherwise be able to manage.
