Story
Ruth is running Swansea Half Marathon and raising money for Swansea Young Adult Carers Project who support 16-25 year olds that provide caring roles to loved ones. Alex who is a Young Adult Carer campaigned at the age of 18 for a Young Adult Carers (YAC) Project in Swansea to support young adults with a caring role as there were no services specifically for them. Since the campaign, Swansea Carers Centre has been running a Young Adult Carers Project. The project provides a break for young adults who are caring for a family member, through a youth club, trips and one-to-one support. All money raised will go towards supporting the Young Adult Carers Project.

7 years agoHi Everyone, Here's a quick update. I completed Swansea Half Marathon in 2 hours and 46 minutes!!! I was thrilled with that because I hoped to do it in under 3 hours. I was sobbing at the finish line! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the Young Adult Carers Project on Just Giving. We really do appreciate it, as we know that the project is really valued by the young people that we support!
