Story
Swim4Shelter is a campaign that will test me to my limits. I will swim all 16 lakes of the Lake District National Park. Whilst swimming the 53 miles will no doubt be extremely challenging for me, it is nothing compared to the challenge faced on a daily basis by many of the most vulnerable members of our society. Through spending time with some of these people, I have seen examples of individuals slipping through the support net and not getting the help they so desperately need. To plug this gap, our aim is to create movement of people to raise both awareness of what is happening on our streets and funds to connect people with organisations that can help them. Our message is that no matter who you are, or how much money or time you can spare, your contribution can create value for somebody in need. I am training hard to complete Swim4Shelter and I will personally ensure that any donation, large or small, will make a difference to someone’s life!
