This is Calvin. Calvin had been hanging round the village for about 8-9 months, his tail was crooked and he had a funny run. We thought then that he had possibly been in an accident or someone had trapped his tail in the door, a sad little chap. A few more months passed and we kept seeing this visitor to our garden, although as soon as you opened the door he would run off scared and afraid, afraid of humans as if they had been cruel to him. We decided to put some food out for Calvin to see if we could befriend him. Slowly but surely over the next few months Calvin would come closer. To start with he would growl when eating the food and if you tried to touch him he would lash out and spit. Such a sad thing for such a handsome boy. Weeks passed and slowly but surely Calvin started to trust us and eventually let us stroke him. We made him a bed in a cardboard box in our porch with some fluffy blankets and a hot water bottle. But a couple of days ago he was wandering round the garden, refusing to eat or drink and we were becoming increasingly worried about Calvin. At 3 am in the morning I got up to check on him and he was at deaths door. I rushed him to the vets as soon as they opened and was told that his bladder was blocked and needed emergency treatment. The total cost is going to be in the region of £900 pounds and my children and myself don't want to see him go without a fight. Please help Calvin so that we can give him a fighting chance and give him the life he deserves. Thanks for reading.
