This time last year my son and i had to pack up and move across country into a womens aid refuge for the second year in a row due to violence and abuse from his dad. We were housed there after christmas. Not long after we moved in we started noticing fleas in the property. After spending months trying and every single spare penny i had and even more pennies i didnt have trying to eradicate the problem myself, and arguing with the housing executive, they are finally sending someone out to fumigate the house tomorrow coz theyre right under the floorboards and everything. unfortunately we have to get rid of our matresses and bedding and carpets and suite. I do work full time (30 hours min wage) a week, so im not entitled to any budgeting loans etc. so by time i pay my full rent and childcare and travel expenses and bills and shopping etc im left with very little if anything leftover every week on payday. It would take me a very long time to save up for second hand furniture and cheap carpets. And these are basic essentials that my son and i cant really live without. My son has quite hard to manage asthma and the draughts from having no carpets and dust from under the floorboards is already annoying his chest. And without matresses and a suite we cant even stay there. we've spent the last two christmas days homeless in womens aids refuge. My son has just turned 3 there, hes just begining to understand what xmas is about. I dont want him to spend a third xmas in a row, the first he understands, homeless again. Please any help is desperately appreciated to help this single mum and her precious boy back on their feet. We've spent our whole lives fighting battles alone as a team, but this time we desperately need help and we're begging for it. Many many many thanks xxxxx
