My name is Jackie North, I am based in Herefordshire, and I am crowdfunding as I have a dream, of which your sponsorship will truly aid! My whole life I have been going through operations to my right leg, the 28th of which was a knee replacement at the age of 22 years old, and through each and every one (All in an aid to "fix" it, but sadly has failed to do so) horse riding has been the shining light on a very dark path, it has been the motivation to (quite literally) get back in the saddle, the one thing that has pushed me to do my physio therapy and kept my hope alive. Born from this is my dream of riding para dressage, a determination so very strong as I want to make all of my pain and suffering worth while, I want to make sure that my fight for a better life was not in vain. My condition is as such that I am making the very most of the time I have left before I become completely wheelchair bound.

Our competition record:

This last year just gone, was our first year in competing, he was a blank slate when he came to me and we have come very far together. However, I am a great believer that training for such a thing as dressage needs to be done at the horses pace and as a result of which I have a favoured method - being that each competition would count as a test, I would compete twice or so in a row and then correlate the training with the judges marks and notes, go away to the black board, work on the details and try again. Most competitions that we went to we were placed and nearly always 60% and up which kept rising steadily throughout the year. Although we are not yet competing at affiliated level our aim for this year is to work at getting the training back on track and higher also climbing the ladder so that we can become affiliated next year.
