This year, as a team, will be embarking on a series of events and challenges to raise money so that we can give something back to these Units and raise awareness of the great work they do.

Prague Half Ironman

Corey was born extremely premature @ 23 weeks and 5 days in March 2017, he spent the first 17 weeks of his life spread between Swansea NICU (10 weeks) and Glangwilli SCBU (7 weeks), the care we received was second to none.

if it was not for these two very special units Corey might not be here, during his time spent on the wards he went through numerous different procedures including daily blood tests, eye tests, lumber punctures. Corey overcame E-Coli infection with the use of antibiotics. He was un able to breathe on his own and spent a long time on ventilator, to come off the ventilator he needed a course of steriods, which created another infection and was unable to complete the course of steroids as he needed to be put back on antibiotics, he then went on to CPAP, High flow and then low flow, and has come home on oxygen, this is due to him have chronic lung disease

the eye tests showed that from the length of time he spent on the ventilator he had created Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes and needed laser eye surgery or he would have gone blind

we want to raise money for both wards and buy items for the wards, the items we would like to look at are as below

to raise funds for this page I will be taking part in numerous events over 2018, will be looking at cycling the Velathon in Cardiff in a team of four, cycling the Carten (Cardiff to Tenby), and other events sprint triathlons, 10k and 5k runs

will keep this page updated. during these events will be members of our families and friends with charity buckets and also charity buckets in different work places and pubs in and around llanelli - will update with locations any small change will be greatly received
