Weʼve raised £2,126 to fundraise for ARFID www.arfidawarenessuk.org and SPARKS www.sparks.org.uk to support families and fund research for critically ill kids

Funded on Wednesday, 27th November 2019

    Story

Grace and Nicola have set themselves the ultimate challenge in order to raise money for two charities close to their hearts…

    Why?

    1. ARFID to support children and families suffering from Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. The newly founded charity was set-up by our friend, who’s son has the condition, when she became frustrated by the lack of access to information, awareness and understanding of ARFID, both within the wider medical community and the public. www.arfidawarenessuk.org

    2. Sparks, who fund life-saving child health research across the UK, are dedicated to helping children with rare and complex conditions (including Grace's niece Leila, who is one of the children involved in their current campaign & in the cover pic). www.sparks.org.uk

    Our biggest challenge EVER!

If we were going to ask our friends and families to donate, we had to make it hard enough and boy it really is! We’ve signed up for a SWIMRUN in the Lake District on the 5th October – A total distance of 21km navigating 3 COLD BIG LAKES (18km running and 3km swimming)

Please spare a few pounds if you can, to support us, for our biggest challenge yet. We’ll keep you updated with our progress in training... Fingers crossed we’ll have mastered the front crawl by then!

Thank you to everyone who sponsored us for the swimrun. It feels like forever ago now, but the memories are still vivid (I wish the stomach muscles were still there lol) We managed to smash our target thanks to everyone’s amazing generosity. So we can now donate over £1000 to both charities and it will make such a difference to them all so thank you from all of us!

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who’s sponsored us so far. We’re already at nearly half our target and it really means so much. Less than 3 weeks to go until the big event and we’ve had some good training sessions. This weekend will be the mega one where we’re aiming to train up to 80% of the distances for both swimming and running! #sparks #arfid
