As many will know Reggie was born with the condition Trisomy 21 or what is more commonly known as Down's syndrome. Reggie has been relatively lucky to not have many other issues related to this condition from birth. The last few months his development has slowed due to having low tone and hyper mobility in his hips meaning he now (for the time being) requires a special seat to keep him upright when eating and needs further help/physio to help develop the ability to crawl and sit upright alone (work in progress). Hopefully these are the only challenges we will have but unfortunately that is unlikely.
Using Reggie's name as "Team Reggie" we have managed to raise over £8000 for Down's syndrome association which is amazing. We are in the unfortunate position where we want to build Reggie a sensory garden to aid his mental and physical development as he grows but will take us a long time to save for. As we continue to raise money for DSA separately, some of our friends have heard about what we want to do and have asked us if they can help fundraise towards the garden. They are currently making sock monkeys and running marathons to fundraise for Reggie's garden so this page has been set up for them, and anyone else who would like to fundraise or donate. We are unsure how much the garden will cost but have set a target of £2000. This may or may not be enough but anything that is raised over the amount needed to complete the garden will be split 50/50 with DSA and Prince of Wales hospice Pontefract who cared for Reggie's grandad until he passed away.
